DUBLIN, Ireland - The cat is out of the bag!
According to reports, the ‘Shape of You’ singer Ed Sheeran might be playing three Croke Park gigs next year.
Rumors started getting more attention after Betting company Boylesports said that they were forced to suspend betting on the possibility of Sheeran playing the gigs at GAA HQ next year.
Sheeran, who just concluded a gig in Ireland was speculated to return to the country and fans were only thrilled to hear him speak the words himself, when he said at the end of his high energy concert that he would make a return soon.
Since then, fans have been awaiting any gossip, rumor or news on the singer’s return to Croke Park.
Boylesports said that they had to suspend betting on the possibility of him playing three gigs at GAA HQ next year after someone, who they suspect ‘knows more than they do’, placed a 200 euros bet at 9/2 on the crooner’s return to the venue.
A BoyleSports spokesperson Liam Glynn said, “It now looks likely that Ed has already been booked for Croke Park in 2018 and after laying a bet of 200 euros in one of our Dublin City Centre shops on Thursday our traders have had no choice but to suspend the betting.”
He added, “Obviously someone knows more than we do about Croke Park’s concert arrangements for 2018 as a bet of 200 euros is rather large for this type of novelty betting. The one good thing is that disappointed Ed Sheeran fans that missed out on his sold-out 3 Arena gigs can rejoice as it now looks like he is set to return to Croke Park in 2018.”
Last week, the crooner played two sold-out gigs in Dublin’s 3 Arena.
