LAOIS, Ireland - Gardai have discovered a number of foreign nationals in the rear of a truck in Co Laois after a truck driver pulled over near Stradbally.
The truck driver is said to have alerted gardai about knocking coming for a container near a graveyard in the town shortly after 5 pm.
When they opened the container, Gardai found three men in their 30s, two women in their 30s and one child.
According to authorities, the individuals were claiming to be Kurdish nationals and it is understood that they had been in a chilled truck for three days.
The individuals had reportedly been travelling from France but the driver of the car is Irish.
A number of ambulances were dispatched to the scene by the National Ambulance Service and some of the individuals were rushed to the hospital as a precautionary measure.
