Fossil find turns history on its head

Ireland News.Net
Tuesday 13th May, 2008

Scientists have found a 1.2 million year old fossilized jawbone in northern Spain, which belongs to the oldest-known human ancestor in Europe, thus shattering previous theories about human migration to Europe.

The fossil, which was discovered underneath layers of sediment in a cave in northern Spain, is from an ancestor to modern humans called pioneer man, which brought about Homo sapiens and the Neanderthal species.

University of Michigan researcher Josep Pares, who was a member of the team that found the jawbone, says it is most likely that as human migration moved north out of Africa, it formed two pulses - one that moved east into Asia and another that moved west into Europe.

He said: "We totally confirmed that human occupation in Europe was much earlier than previously thought. I think that the present theories need to be reconsidered."

History

History is very very important to know that our past is correct. The scientific world is doing an excellent job in revealing interesting facts and figures. The latest scietific inquest brought the truth in Hinduism that it was created and followed in India itself from 10,000 BC with the finding of the lost city that dates back 9,500 BC off Gujarat coast. The Europeans only adopted to its civilizations in 1,200 BC. Eventhough it was revealed since 1992 about the origin of Hinduism, it’s a shame on the Indian government for not rewriting history for their people to understand their origin b’cos the elite class wanted to maintain their european ancestry formulated by European scholars since 18th century. We might be thinking the earth is the center of the Universe if not for the scitific community.
