Male pedestrian killed in Meath road tragedy

MEATH, Ireland - In a tragic road accident, a man in his 40s was killed in Meath.

The incident occurred on the R162 Navan to Nobber road on Thursday night in which, a male pedestrian was fatally injured.

The man was reportedly struck by a car and pronounced dead at the scene.

Emergency services that arrived at the spot, moved the man's body to the Our Lady's Hospital in Navan for a post-mortem.

Subsequently, gardai said that they had launched an investigation into the accident.

Officials confirmed that the accident spot had been cordoned off and the driver of the car involved in the crash managed to escape injuries.
