NEWBRIDGE, Ireland - The Gardai have announced that they plan to use digitized CCTV footage of Deirdre Jacob in order to provide more headway in her case. By digitizing old CCTV footage, the Gardai may be able to confirm whether the case is a murder investigation or not.
Deirdre Jacobs went missing on July 28, 1998 and has not been seen since. A year later, the Gardai categorized the investigation as a murder investigation but did not have any leads to back the case. Until now, they have not been able to deduce where Deirdre went the night she went missing.
With the new plan, the Gardai may be able to find new witnesses in the old CCTV footage. The Gardai are very hopeful that the move can push the investigation forward.
The old CCTV footage shows Deirdre walking through Newbridge town before she disappeared.
