CO CORK, Ireland - A murder investigation has been launched following the death of a man whose body was found in a home in Cork City on Saturday morning.
A post mortem was carried out on the 55-year old man's remains on Sunday by Assistant State Pathologist Dr. Linda Mulligan at the morgue at Cork University Hospital.
"The post mortem examination has now been completed on the body of the man in his 50s who was discovered in a house on the Bandon Rd in Cork City yesterday morning, Saturday 7th September 2019. For operational reasons investigating Garda are not releasing the details of the post mortem. A full murder investigation has now been launched," a Garda statement released on Monday said.
Garda at Anglesea Street in Cork said they are renewing their appeal for information and are anxious to speak to anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the Bandon Road / McCurtain Villas area of Cork City between Monday 2nd September and Saturday 7th September 2019 and to anyone who may have dash cam footage.
