Couple arrested over murder of 55-year on man in Cork

CO CORK, Ireland - Two people have been arrested in connection with the murder of a 55-year old man, whose body was found in a house on the Bandon Road, Cork on Saturday.

The two, a man in his early 40s, and a woman is her early 40s have been detained on suspicion of murder.

Their arrests occurred on Tuesday.

The woman is being detained at Togher Garda Station while the man is at Mayfield Garda Station.

No further information has been made available in relation to the arrests.

The man's body was discovered by garda shortly after 11.30am Saturday. A post-molten was carried out on Sunday after which gardai confirmed they were now conducting a murder investigation. Details of the post-mortem were not revealed.

Garda at Anglesea Street investigating the murder are appealing to any persons who were in the Bandon Road area between 9.30pm and 10.30pm on Saturday night to come forward.

Garda are also appealing to any motorists travelling in the area at that time who may have Dashcam Footage.
