CO CORK, Ireland - A man remains in serious condition at York University Hospital, following what appears to have been a serious assault.
Garda are renewing their appeal for witnesses in relation to the attack which took place on Patrick Street, Cork, close to the junction with Academy Street.
The assault allegedly occurred shortly after 9:00pm on Thursday.
A man in his 40s was transported to Cork University Hospital in serious condition.
"We are appealing for anyone who was in the Patrick Street area from 8.30pm to 9:30pm to get in touch with us," speaking at Anglesea Street Garda Station, today, Superintendent Michael Comyns said Sunday.
"We are particularly anxious to speak to the occupants of several cars which were on Patrick Street at the time of the assault. Also, anyone who may have any mobile phone footage or dash cam footage, to please contact us," he added.

No arrests have been made in relation to this serious assault and the investigation is ongoing.
