DUBLIN, Ireland - Four men have been arrested after searches of three homes in the West Dublin area.
The searches were carried out on Tuesday as part of 'Operation Quest' by Garda National Protective Services Bureau (GNPSB) who are investigating recent robberies and assaults on sex workers across Ireland, but primarily in Dublin.
The search operation targeted three premises in the West Dublin area.
Of the four men arrested, who are aged from 18 to 37, three men were scheduled to appear before a special sitting of Roscommon District Court on Thursday morning at 10.30am.
The fourth man arrested was released without charge and a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
The three in custody are currently housed at Garda Stations in Dublin.
A fifth man was arrested on foot of a bench warrant and is now before the District Court.
The Operation was conducted by gardai from the Garda National Protective Services Bureau, along with units from Dublin Metropolitan South Central, Western and Northern Divisions, and Longford/Roscommon Divisions.
An Garda Sochna is continuing to appeal to any sex worker who may have been subject to an attack to immediately report the incident. Anyone who comes forward they say will be treated confidentially with compassion and sensitivity.
An Garda Sochna is also appealing to any person with information on what they describe as "these callous, targeted attacks" to contact gardai to assist in bringing the attackers to justice.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
