DUBLIN, Ireland - A man who held up a Dublin shop using a broken glass bottle as a weapon appeared in a Dublin court on Monday.
The robbery took place on Sunday at a shop on Saint Andrew St, Dublin 2.
A man in his 30s, armed with a broken glass bottle, entered the shop, threatened a staff member and demanded cash from the tills. The man then fled on foot with a sum of cash in the direction of Dame St.
Garda investigating the robbery carried out searches of the area and arrested the man.
He was detained at Pearse St Garda station ahead of his appearance on Monday before the Criminal Courts of Justice in Dublin.
The weapon believed to have been used in the robbery, a broken glass bottle, was also seized.
No injuries were reported during the incident and investigations are ongoing.
