Man arrested and charged over Cork hold-up two weeks ago

CO CORK, Ireland - A man in his 20s appeared before Cork City District Court on Friday over a robbery in Cork two weeks ago.

The man was arrested and charged in Cork on Thursday.

He is being detained at Mayfield Garda Station.

Gardai allege that at 6:45am on Thursday 28 November 2019 the man entered a shop on the Lower Glanmire Road, Cork.

The man was confronted by a staff member and a struggle ensued. He threatened staff and demanded cash from the till. He then left the scene with a sum of money.

The staff member was not injured during the incident.

An investigation was carried out by Gardai in Mayfield leading to the arrest of the man ahead of his appearance before Cork City District Court on Friday morning.
