Man on bike dies in Dublin after colliding with Luas tram

DUBLIN, Ireland - A man has died after he and his bicycle collided with a Luas tram in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The collision took place at Peters Place on Charlemont Bridge at approximately 3:00am Sunday.

The Luas line was closed while a forensic examination of the scene took place.

Gardai in Pearse Street the collision.

The cyclist was pronounced dead at the scene and his body removed to the City Morgue in Whitehall.

Gardai are appealing for any persons who may have witnessed the collision or may be able to assist them with the investigation to contact them at Pearse Street Garda Station on 01 666 9000, the Garda Confidential Line 1 800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
