CO LOUTH, Ireland - An intelligence-led operation in the early hours of Sunday morning has resulted in a major drug bust with a massive €900,000 worth of Cocaine and Cannabis seized.

An animal transporter truck and a high powered car were intercepted as part of the operation, around 1:00am on Sunday morning.

The vehicles were travelling in the vicinity of Ardee in Co Louth.

Two men, one aged 41 and the other 33, and a 33-year old woman were arrested and are currently detained for questioning at Dundalk and Ashbourne Garda Stations .

The operation was part of ongoing intelligence-led investigations associated with the Joint Agency Task Force (JATF) targeting suspected facilitators of drug trafficking into the Co Louth jurisdiction.

The operation was carried out by personnel attached to the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB).

Follow up searches have since been carried out at locations in Leixlip, Co Kildare and Ballyshannon, Co. Donegal, in the course of which Garda have seized a vacuum packing machine and cash €8,000.

Investigations, gardai say, are ongoing.
