15 year old boy stabbed during brawl on Portmarnock Beach

CO DUBLIN, Ireland - Gardai at Malahide are investigating the stabbing of a 15-year old boy which took place in the vicinity of Portmarnock Beach on Friday night.

It is understood a fight broke out between two groups of boys at around 9:30pm Friday, resulting in the 15-year old being stabbed.

He was taken from the scene by car to Malahide Garda Station where he was treated by Garda ASU members. He was then transported by Ambulance to Temple Street Children's Hospital where his condition on Saturday was described as stable.

"Gardai are anxious to hear from any witnesses who may have been in the vicinity of the entrance to Portmarnock Beach, Velvet Strand, Coast Road and Wendell Avenue between 9:00pm and 10:00pm or to anyone with camera footage that could assist the investigation. Gardai are also appealing to any persons who may have been using public transport in that vicinity and came across large groups of youths availing of transport services," Superintendent Gerry Donnelly, speaking from Malahide Garda Station said Saturday.
