DUBLIN, Ireland - A drug packaging and distribution facility housed in a tent in suburban Dublin has been shut down.
The tent, hidden in dense undergrowth was discovered and raided by members of the Divisional Drug Unit based out of Ballyfermot Garda station, in an operation targeting drug dealing along the canal banks in Clondalkin.
The operation took place on Friday. Based on intelligence gathered, garda located three men in the tent which aside from the drug packaging and distribution facility, there was found to be Cannabis valued at €15,080, Crack Cocaine to the value of €6,400 and Dimorphine worth €15,960, all of which were seized.
All three men were arrested and are currently detained at Clondalkin and Ballyfermot Garda Stations.
Follow-up searches carried out in the surrounding area involving the Garda Dog Unit resulted in the discovery of 108 packets of cigarettes and other tobacco products .
