CO TIPPERARY, Ireland - A man has been killed and another is in critical condition after a three-car collision on Sunday in Co Tipperary.

The fatal crash occurred around 6:50am on Sunday morning at South Lodge, Carrick-On-Suir, Co Tipperary.

The front seat passenger of one of the cars, a man in his 70s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A passenger in the back seat of another of the cars, a young man in his 20s, was seriously injured and was taken to St. Luke's General Hospital in a critical condition.

No other serious injuries were reported. A man in his 30s was arrested at the scene and he is currently being detained at Clonmel Garda Station.

Forensic Collision Investigators attended the scene while the road was closed. Local diversions were put in place.

Garda at Clonmel are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward. Garda are also appealing for any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) who were travelling in the area at the time to make this footage available to Garda.
