CO CORK, Ireland - A post mortem examination of the body of a man found on Tuesday in Co Cork took place on Thursday afternoon at Cork University Hospital.

Simultaneously, gardai released the name of the man whose death they are now investigating. He was Gary Dineen, who is originally from the north side of Cork city. He was 35-years old.

Investigating Garda attended a scene at Merchant's Quay Car Park, on the Parnell Place side, shortly after 11.30am on Wednesday. The scene was preserved and a technical examination was carried out.

Anyone who was in Mr Dineen's company from Saturday August 8.

Anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious or unusual in Merchant Quay Car Park or the surrounding area from Saturday August 8 to Wednesday August 12.

Anyone that used the Merchants Quay Shopping centre car park who may have noticed anything, particularly drivers with dash cam footage from Saturday August 8 to Wednesday August 12.

Garda say they are keeping an open mind as they continue to investigate all of the circumstances of Mr Dineen's death.
