DUBLIN, Ireland - At least three teenage boys are believed to have been involved in an altercation in Dublin on Tuesday night, one of whom has since died of injuries he received.
Gardai are currently investigating all the circumstances of the incident which occurred Tuesday night on East Road, East Wall, Dublin 3.
"At approximately 9:20:pm Gardai received report of a public order incident occurring on East Road, East Wall. Gardai and emergency services attended the scene and two juvenile males were taken to the Mater Hospital to be treated for serious injuries. One of the juvenile males has subsequently been pronounced dead in the Mater Hospital," a gardai statement released on Wednesday said.
"A third male has since presented to the Mater Hospital to be treated for injuries."
A post mortem was scheduled to be carried out on Wednesday afternoon at the City Morgue by Dr Heidi Okkers, Locum Assistant State Pathologist.
Gardai say a family Liaison Officer has been appointed to and continues to liaise with the family.
The third male who arrived at Mater Hospital for treatment has been confirmed now as an adult. He along with the other teenager injured has been hospitalised.
Garda continue to appealfor anyone who was in the East Wall Road/ East Road, Dublin 3 area between 9:00pm and 9:40pm Tuesday night to speak with investigating Gardai.
