Man on motorcycle is killed after collision with car on R338

CO GALWAY, Ireland - Another motorcyclist has lost his life on Irish roads.

A man in his 40s was seriously injured when his motorbike collided with a car on the R338 on Sunday. Despite efforts to save him, the man died at the scene.

The crash occurred just after 10:00am on Sunday on the R338 Old Dublin Road at Renmore Park.

The crash site was fully examined by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and the road has since reopened to traffic.

The man's body was removed to the mortuary at University Hospital Galway and the local Coroner was notified.

Investigating Garda are appealing witnesses to come forward. They are also appealing to those who were travelling on the Old Dublin Road, Renmore Park at the time of the collision who may have any camera footage (including dashcam), to make it available to them.
