DUBLIN, Ireland - A 20-year old motorcyclist has been killed in the Dublin City Centre.
The youth died early Wednesday when his motorcycle left the road and struck a lamp post.
The crash occurred shortly before 4:00am Wednesday.
"Garda and Emergency Services were alerted to a serious road traffic collision at Inns Quay in Dublin City Centre involving a motorcycle," a gardai statement issued later on Wednesday said. T
"The motorcyclist, a man aged 20 years, was fatally injured when his bike left the road and stuck a lamp post."
"The scene was examined by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and the road has since fully reopened to traffic. The Coroner has been notified and the body of the deceased has been removed to Dublin City Morgue for a post-mortem examination," the statement said.
