DUBLIN, Ireland - Drugs and cash worth €80,000 have been seized in a search in the Irish capital on Monday.
Gardai Crumlin carried out the search, with officers from the Crumlin District Drugs Unit intercepting a car on the Drimmagh Road, in Crumlin, s southside suburb of Dublin.
Officers seized approximately €66,000 worth of cannabis and over €14,000 in cash during the operation.
"Following a search of the car, garda discovered 2kg of cannabis herb in the boot of the vehicle. A total of €14,930 in cash was also found concealed within the vehicle," a gardai statement issued Monday night said.
"Two females, ages in their 20s, were arrested at the scene and taken to Crumlin Garda Station. They are currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996."
During a follow-up search operation at a home in Dublin 12, garda seized a further quantity of cannabis herb and cannabis resin. The total value of drugs seized is estimated at €66,000. All drugs will now be sent for analysis.
