CO CORK, Ireland - A photographic exhibition by leading Ukrainian photographers showing the destruction caused by Russia's invasion of Ukraine opens this week in Cork.
Ukrainska Pravda, the country's largest news website, provided the photographs for the exhibition 'Ukraine: The Cost of Freedom.'
The exhibition will give visitors a glimpse of life on the frontlines during the devastating war that followed Russia's invasion in February.
Yevgeniy Ikhelzon, a former Deputy Editor of Ukraine's largest daily newspaper Segodnya who moved to Cork with his family after the war, is one of the organizers.
"What we have witnessed in Ukraine is indescribable." Photographers and journalists have risked their lives in combat zones to document Russian atrocities against our towns, villages, and people.
"We hope the images will shed light on the devastation wreaking havoc in our homeland." We are eternally grateful to the people of Ireland for welcoming us and providing us with a haven.
"We hope to tour this exhibition throughout Europe to raise awareness of the gravity of the situation," he said.
