PORTIMAO, Portugal - During a mass brawl outside a Portuguese bar, an unruly mob of British and Irish tourists threw tables and chairs around.
The riot began at the Aloha bar in the Algarve coastal resort of Portimao, with terrified employees taking cover to avoid being hurt in the chaos.
Even though several people were said to have required medical attention during the June 20 fight, no one was seriously injured.
According to officers, seven British teenagers were later identified, with some having criminal backgrounds.
According to the press, a staff member is seen shielding himself from flying chairs with a table in a video of the violent melee.
Onlookers are also heard exclaiming, "what the f***" and "oh my God."
According to local reports, a fight broke out between two groups before the gang of Brits turned on bar manager Ricardo Teixeria and a security guard when they attempted to break up the brawl.
After about a minute, the group fled.
Meanwhile, a Portimao Council spokesperson told the local press that the local authority plans to install 32 CCTV cameras to reduce violent crime incidents in the city.
