West Cork Man Killed in Monday Morning Collision Near Leap

CO CORK, Ireland - A man in his 60s has died following a single-vehicle collision in County Cork.

The fatal incident occurred on the regional road between the villages of Leap and Drinagh, in the Corran Middle area on Monday morning.

Gardaí and emergency services were called to the scene shortly after 11:30 am Monday. Despite their efforts, the driver, the sole occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The road was closed to allow for a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. 

Gardaí have confirmed that an investigation into the circumstances of the crash is ongoing. As part of this, they are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with dash-cam footage who was travelling in the area between 10:30 am and 11:30 am to contact Clonakilty Garda Station on 023 882 1570 or the Garda Confidential Line.
