CO GALWAY, Ireland - Gardaí in Co Galway have launched an investigation following a fatal house fire in Casla that claimed the lives of two individuals early Tuesday morning.
Emergency services were alerted to the blaze at Gleann Mhic Mhuireann at approximately 6:20am. Firefighters brought the fire under control, but tragically, the bodies of a woman in her 70s and a man in his 30s were recovered from the property.
The remains have been transferred to University Hospital Galway for post-mortem examinations. The outcome of these examinations, along with a technical investigation of the scene, will guide the Garda inquiry.
The local Coroner has been notified, and authorities are appealing to the public for any information that may assist in the investigation.
