Urgent: Catherine Connolly wins Ireland's presidential election

LONDON, Oct. 25 (Xinhua) -- Independent politician Catherine Connolly has won Ireland's presidential election and will serve as the country's 10th president, according to official election results on Saturday.

Electoral results show a landslide victory for Connolly. Her sole competitor, Fine Gael's Heather Humphreys, has officially conceded earlier in the afternoon.
