Pedestrian in His 40s Killed in Co. Carlow Collision

CO CARLOW, Ireland - A man in his 40s has died following a road traffic collision in County Carlow on Saturday afternoon.

The incident occurred at around 4.30pm on the R703 at Ballyroughan Big, near Borris, when a car struck a pedestrian. Emergency services attended the scene, but the man was pronounced dead shortly after the collision. His body remained at the scene pending the arrival of the Coroner, and a post-mortem examination is expected to be carried out in the coming days.

The driver of the car, a woman in her 60s, did not sustain any injuries.

The road was closed overnight to allow Garda Forensic Collision Investigators to carry out a technical examination, with local traffic diversions in operation.
