Minister launches new Careers Guide to support ethnic minority communities

Economy Minister Dr Caoimhe Archibald has launched a new guide designed to help ethnic minority communities in Northern Ireland access careers information and opportunities.
The Careers Service publication, "A Guide to Careers Support for Ethnic Minorities Living in Northern Ireland", offers practical advice and clear signposts on key topics such as education and training options, qualification equivalence, and job search strategies. It also highlights support available locally from the Careers Service, further and higher education institutions, and community organisations.
Minister Archibald said: "This guide aligns with my Economic Vision to build a skilled, inclusive workforce - ensuring that everyone can fully contribute to the north's economic prosperity. My Department's Careers Service is committed to working with partner organisations to help those furthest from the workforce, including ethnic minorities and migrants, access high-quality careers support.
"This guide will empower users to explore opportunities and make informed decisions by providing clear guidance and signposts to further sources of information and support."
Steve Lazars, Founder and Director of the Ethnic Minority Employment and Entrepreneurship Network (EMEEN), who contributed to the guide, added: "I would like to congratulate the Careers Service for taking this important and forward-thinking step.
"Ethnic minority workforces play a vital role in Northern Ireland's economy, and this guide will help reduce barriers to information and participation, enabling individuals to take the next step with clarity and confidence."
