A Hollywood script might notdo justice to his story: The Gaelic football goalkeeper who never had kicked an NFL football joined the NFL's International Pathway Program, kicked well in the IPP and at the NFL Combine, earned a contract with the Saints and continued working on his craft until he was added to the 53-man roster following Blake Grupe's release. He showed potential in six games, making 12 of 16 field goal attempts, with a long of 57 yards, and all 13 extra point attempts.

New Orleans Saints punterKai Kroegerhad a bumpy rookie season after winning the job during the offseason. He averaged 44.8 yards gross and 37.3 net on 56 punts, ranking 28th and 30th in the league in those respective categories.
