CO WICKLOW, Ireland - Authorities have seized approximately 5.75 kilograms of herbal cannabis with an estimated street value of €105,000 following two separate operations in County Wicklow on Monday.
The seizures were the result of a joint intelligence-led operation involving the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB), the local Bray Drugs Unit, detective branches from Bray, Arklow, and Wicklow, and the Revenue Customs Service.
During the course of the operation, two individuals were arrested. They are described as a man in his 20s and a woman in her 30s. Both are currently being detained at Garda stations in County Wicklow under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984, which allows for their detention for questioning.
The confiscated drugs have been sent to Forensic Science Ireland for a full analysis.
The man who were arrested in connection have since been charged.
The man is due to appear before Bray District Court on the 9th March 2026.
The woman is due to appear before Wicklow District Court on the 10th March 2026.
A Garda spokesperson confirmed that investigations into the matter are ongoing and no further details are available at this time.
