5.3-magnitude quake hits New Ireland Region, Papua New Guinea -- GFZ

BEIJING, March 30 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.3 jolted New Ireland Region, Papua New Guinea at 1809 GMT on Sunday, the GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 10 km, was initially determined to be at 5.46 degrees south latitude and 153.75 degrees east longitude.
