CO CORK, Ireland - A man in his 50s has died following a single-vehicle road traffic collision in Castletownroche, Co. Cork, on Monday.
The crash occurred at approximately 12:50pm on Monday afternoon. The man, who was the sole occupant of the car, was pronounced dead at the scene.
His body was removed to Cork University Hospital, where a post-mortem examination will take place.
Garda Forensic Collision Investigators carried out a technical examination of the scene. The road remained closed as a result of the incident for most of the afternoon, but fully reopened around 6:00pm on Monday night.
