CO WICKLOW, Ireland - A man in his 20s remains in serious ccndition in hospital following an early morning assault on Sunday.
Investigating officers say the assault took place in Bray, Co. Wicklow at around 1:25am on Sunday.
Gardaí and emergency services were called to the scene on the Dublin Road at Bray where they found the seriously injured victim. He was treated at the scene before being rushed to St. Vincent's University Hospital.
The scene was preserved for technical examination which has since been completed.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to the incident to come forward.
Any road users who may have camera footage (including dashcam) and were travelling on the Dublin Road in Bray between 1:00am and 2:00am on Sunday are asked to make this footage available to investigating officers.
