TEHRAN (Tasnim) Spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry Esmaeil Baqaei hailed Irish Member of the European Parliament Michael McNamara for denouncing Israels atrocities, highlighting his remarks as a reminder to Europe of its responsibilities toward peace and justice.
- Politics news -In a post on his X account, Baqaei wrote, Michael McNamara rightly exposed Israels war crimes & genocide in Gaza, its repression in the West Bank, and its criminal act of aggression against Iran.
He went on to stress that European governments should take note of McNamaras position, adding, This is what E3/EU need to heed if they want to be regarded as credible/responsible/law-abiding actors capable of contributing to world peace.
McNamara, an independent MEP from Ireland, has been vocal in recent sessions of the European Parliament, openly criticizing the Israeli regime over its onslaught on Gaza and its oppressive policies in the West Bank.
Iranian officials have repeatedly condemned the Wests silence on the Israeli regimes actions, calling on the EU to abandon double standards and respect international law.
