Kimmins announces Pound 423k road maintenance scheme for Sydenham Avenue, Belfast

Infrastructure Minister Liz Kimmins has announced that a Pound 423k road maintenance scheme for Sydenham Avenue, Belfast has commenced today on Monday 15 September.
The scheme will resurface a 0.7km stretch of Sydenham Avenue, Belfast from its junction with the Holywood Road to its junction with the Belmont Church Road..
Minister Kimmins said:
"This substantial investment in the East Belfast area will deliver significant benefits for residents and road users and demonstrates my commitment to improving our road network. I would like to thank the local community for their patience while this essential infrastructure work is carried out."
To facilitate the safe delivery of the works it will be necessary to implement a daily road closure (Monday to Friday only) between 8am and 5pm. During this period the road will be fully closed to traffic and signed diversions will be in place. Access will continue to be maintained for residents.
It is expected that work will take 10 weeks to complete however completion of the works is subject to favourable weather conditions and the Department will keep the public informed of any changes.
The Department for Infrastructure has carefully planned these road works and associated traffic management arrangements to minimise any inconvenience to the public.
