CO LIMERICK, Ireland - A man in his 50s has died following a single-vehicle motorcycle crash near Dromcollogher, Co. Limerick, on Sunday evening.
The collision occurred at around 7.00pm on the R519 at Callahow. Emergency services attended the scene, but the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. His body has since been taken to University Hospital Limerick, where a post-mortem examination will be carried out.
The crash site was sealed off to allow Garda Forensic Collision Investigators to conduct a technical examination. The R519 remained closed overnight, with local diversions in place.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who was travelling in the area between 6.15pm and 7.15pm on Sunday to come forward. Drivers with dash-cam or other footage are also asked to contact Gardaí at Henry Street Station on (061) 212400, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.
