CO CORK, Ireland - Eighteen allegedly stolen cattle have been rescued by law enforcement and returned to their owner.
The cattle were discovered during a search on Monday, in the Ballydehob area of West Cork. They had allegedly been stolen from a farm in the Lakelands area of Skibbereen, Co. Cork , a little over a fortnight ago, on Monday night 24 November 2025.
The search and retrieval operation on Monday was carried out by Gardai from the Serious Crime Units in Clonakilty, Bandon and Bantry, supported by the Divisional Search Team and the Department of Agriculture .
A man in his 30s was arrested at the scene of the search and taken to a Garda Station in Co. Cork where he is currently being detained.
Investigators say they are continuing their enquiries.
