Big Cash Seizure and Arrests in Organised Crime Sweep

CO DUBLIN/LEITRUM - Ireland - Earlier this week, Gardai, conducting a major operation targeting organised crime in North Dublin seized €383,000 in cash and arrested four individuals in their 30s.

Shortly before 8pm Tuesday night, officers from the Garda National Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau, working under Operation Tara, intercepted two vehicles in North Dublin and carried out searches at four residential premises in both North Dublin and Co. Leitrim. Along with the cash, a money counter and multiple mobile phones were recovered.

Two men and two women were arrested and are currently being held at Garda stations in Dublin. Gardai have confirmed that investigations are ongoing.

Operation Tara, launched in July 2021 by the Garda Commissioner, is an enhanced national strategy aimed at disrupting and dismantling drug trafficking networks at local, national, and international levels. The operation focuses on the importation, distribution, cultivation, production, and sale of controlled substances.
