Chinese FM congratulates Irish FM on assuming office

BEIJING, Nov. 25 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has sent a congratulatory message to Helen McEntee on her assuming office as Irish minister for foreign affairs and trade.

In his message dated Friday, Wang, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, noted that China and Ireland are mutually beneficial strategic partners.

In recent years, the two sides have maintained close high-level exchanges, continuously deepened cooperation in trade and investment as well as culture and education, and jointly supported multilateralism and free trade, he said.

Wang said that he is willing to establish a good working relationship with McEntee to jointly push China-Ireland relations forward and achieve more positive results.
