7.2 million euro worth of cocaine seized by Gardai

CO Dublin/Wexford - Four men, aged in their 20s, 30s, and 40s, have been arrested and charged, and are being detained following drug raids in Counties Dublin and Wexford earlier this week.

They have all fronted court.

The searches and arrests were part of ongoing investigations targeting organised crime activity under Operation Tara.

Officers from the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau, the Garda Dogs Unit and DMR East swooped on two separate locations in Gorey, Co. Wexford and Shankill, Co. Dublin on Monday.

The searches yielded a massive amount of cocaine, estimated to be 104 kg with a street value €7,280,000. 

An amount of €47,000 in cash was also seized, together with a number of digital devices which investigators say are of evidential value.

The four men arrested  (one in his 20s, one in his 30s, and two in their 40s), are being housed at Garda Stations in Wexford and the Dublin Metropolitan Region. They have been charged. Three of the men appeared before Gorey District Court ton Thursday morning,

The fourth man appeared before Dún Laoghaire District Court, on Wednesday.

Gardai say investigations are ongoing.
