CO CORK, Ireland - A man in his 30s has died following a single-vehicle crash in Co Cork, after a car was discovered in the River Bride near the Conna Road.
Emergency services were alerted shortly before 10:00am on Saturday after reports of a vehicle in the water close to the Conna Road (R628). The incident is understood to have occurred sometime between Friday night and Saturday morning.
The driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene.
His body was removed to Cork University Hospital, where a post-mortem examination is due to take place in the coming days.
The Conna Road remains closed while Garda forensic collision investigators carry out a technical examination of the scene. Local diversions have been put in place.
An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash is ongoing.
