Gardai arrest three men in Dublin with 622,000 euros in cash

DUBLIN, Ireland: Gardaí seized some 622,000 euros in cash and arrested three men in Dublin on November 28 in raids.

As part of ongoing investigations targeting organised crime activity under Operation Tara, the Garda National Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau searched two separate business premises in Dublin city centre and north Dublin.

During this operation, 622,000 euros in cash and several digital devices of evidential value were recovered.

Gardaí also arrested three males – one in his 30s, two in their 40s – who are currently detained under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 2007 at Garda Stations in Dublin.

Following the operation, Assistant Commissioner Angela Willis, in charge of Organised & Serious Crime, said, "This significant seizure of cash is further evidence of our ongoing collaboration with international partners and targeting of the facilitators and enablers who launder the vast sums of cash generated from casual drug use.

"The Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau alone has seized in excess of three million euros in cash during 2025, and continues to disrupt and dismantle identified national priority high-risk criminal networks, in our efforts to make our communities safer."
