CO LIMERICK, Ireland - A woman aged in her 70s has died tragically in a a single-vehicle road traffic collisio.
The fatal crash occurred on late Thursday afternoon at around 4:10pm.
The woman who died, who was the driver and sole occupant of the car involved in the collision was prounced dead at the scene.
Her body was taken to University Hospital Limerick where a post mortem is scheduled to take place.
The road was closed pending a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. Local diversions were put in place.
Investigators are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.
Any road users who may have camera footage (including dashcam) and were travelling in the area between 3:50pm and 4:20pm, are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
