CO KILDARE, Ireland - An elderly man has died in a single-vehicle road traffic collision in County Kildare.
The fatal crash took place on Wednesday afternoon.
First responders were called to Curragh Road, in Kildare town around 1:35pm on Wednesday. There they found the crashed vehicle, with the only occupant being the driver, a man aged in his 80s. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Coroner was notified and the body of the man was taken to the mortuary at Naas General Hospital. A post-mortem is expected to take place..
Garragh Road was closed to traffic following the crash to allow for a forensic examination. The road has since reopened.
Officers from Kildare Garda Station are investigating the crash.
Anyone who may have camera footage (including dashcam) and were travelling in the Kildare town between 1:00pm and 2:00pm on Wednesday 26th November 2025, are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
