CO KERRY, Ireland - A teenage motorcyclist is continuing to be treated life-threatening injuries following a serious multi-vehicle road crash in Killarney, Co Kerry.
The collision occurred at approximately 4.00pm on Friday afternoon on the N22 at Lissivigeen and involved a motorcycle and three other vehicles. Gardaí and emergency services were alerted to the incident and responded to the scene shortly afterwards.
The motorcyclist, a youth in his late teens, was airlifted by helicopter to Cork University Hospital, where he is being treated for life-threatening injuries. No other injuries were reported.
The N22 was closed for a number of hours following the collision to allow Garda Forensic Collision Investigators to carry out a technical examination of the scene, with traffic diversions put in place in the area.
Gardaí have confirmed that investigations into the circumstances surrounding the crash are ongoing.
